Jessica Riggs, MS, RDN, CPT

Jessica Riggs is a Colorado Native hailing from Golden, Colorado. She possesses Bachelor’s degrees in both Dance and Dietetics from Colorado State University, as well as a Master’s degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition. During her college dance career, Jessica had the opportunity to work and study with many choreographers and teachers including Jane Slusarski-Harris, Chung-Fu Chang, Melissa Corr, Judy Bejarano, Hannah Kahn, Gabriel Masson, Katie Elliot, and Kim Neal Knofsinger.

She completed her Dietetic Internship through the University of Houston and became a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in 2008. Jessica has worked as a Retail Dietitian for King Soopers where she helped shoppers with a variety of needs and conditions navigate the grocery store. She has also worked for Volunteers of America as a Community Nutritionist where she taught nutrition and exercise classes to seniors living in subsidized housing residences. Inspired by the observed need for entertainment and interaction in these facilities, Jessica created a nonprofit dance company, Life/Art Dance Ensemble, in order help uplift and entertain this often forgotten group. In addition to Life/Art's productions, Jessica's choreography and performance have been featured in Ascential Dance Theatre's Assemblage, Transition Theater's Kali Creates Fate, GAMMA-UT's New Music Festival at the University of Texas, the Dairy Arts Center’s Women in Classical Music Soundscape concert, and in Prague at the American Music Festival in collaboration with Stratus Chamber Orchestra.

Jessica holds a personal training certification through the American College of Sports Medicine, and is a certified Pilates Mat instructor through The Lab Pilates Method. Jessica also dances with Cindy Brandle Dance Company and the Lost Walks Band and teaches dance classes at the Lakewood Cultural Center. In her spare time, she helps people fix their relationship with food!
